Nemeris Audit

Yes, there is a code audit for Claude Code that runs before the commit. Nemeris Audit goes through your code in 12 areas, and Claude is sent to audit before it commits. It comes with every Nemeris licence, at no extra cost.

Why audit code Claude wrote

Code that runs is not the same as code you can trust. In Veracode's 2026 tests of AI models, generated code passed security checks only 56% of the time. In Veracode's words: "Working code is not trustworthy code by default." Source: Veracode, 2026 GenAI Code Security Report, July 2026

A review gives you an opinion about a diff. An audit gives you a report you can check.

Evidence, not opinions

Each finding in the report says what was checked and what was found.

What people ask about it

  • What does Nemeris Audit check?

12 areas. 4 of them are security, performance, tests and error handling. Your report names all 12, on your own code.

  • When does it run?

When you ask Claude for it. And Claude is sent to audit before it commits.

  • What about the commits I make myself?

After the first audit in a project, ordinary commits are checked too: git refuses one until the code it carries has been audited, if your project's git settings allow it. It is not a guarantee: a script or a git command can still get around it. When you need to, you can still commit without it, and the manual says how. If your project already runs its own checks in git, Nemeris Audit leaves them in place and says what line to add to them.

  • Is it a code review?

No. A review is an opinion. Before a commit, the audit leaves a report in your project, ranked critical, major and minor, and each finding says what was checked and what was found.

  • Do I need the rest of Nemeris?

No. Nemeris Audit is the second tool in the licence. It works on its own, with or without the 4 stages.

  • Where does my code go?

The audit runs inside your Claude Code session. Nothing from your code is sent to us. To check your dependencies for known vulnerabilities, it can ask your package registry (npm, PyPI) about the packages you use. Nothing is sent to us.

  • What does it cost?

It is included in the Nemeris licence: €89, paid once, for 1 machine. Fixes and security updates included.
